Author's Life
J.K. Rowling was said to have lived a happy life as a child but was teased at school because of her name. She went to study French at the University of Exeter because of her parents wishes but she really wanted to study English. After college she went to Portugal to be a English teacher and found her first husband there named Jorge Arantes. Together they had a kid named Jessica, but a few years after that they split up from a argument and J.K. got thrown out of the house. During those years when on a very long train ride she thought of the characters for the Harry Potter series and their personalities but didn't have a pen or paper to write the idea's with. Soon after that she got word that her mother died and encorperated that in the book. Once she finished the book she sent it to various agents that rejected it but found one that tried to get it published and he did but not a very big publisher who considered it a childrens book. After a few weeks its sales boomed and all the other books in the series followed suit.

Authors Favorite Character
J.K. Rowling never said anything about who she thought she was as a charater in her book but she did say her favorite character was Dumbledore. Dumbledore is the headmaster of hogwarts (the school that is the setting most of all the books) and is the wises sage of the series. Dumbledore is kind of like the tutor of Harry Potter and usually has the most important and story driven dialoge in all the books. He is the kindest teacher with a unique way of teaching and is said to be tied with the most powerful person of the series. He is part of the "good side" who are fighting against the dark lord. Dumbledore has a odd way of going about things and usually hires the stranges teachers. However he has a lot of trust in others and helps everyone he can to get them their needs in anyway possible.
